ARB Safari Snorkel
I'm looking to buy a snorkel and came across the ARB. Don't know much about them and definitely don't want to break the bank because these are pretty pricy! Anyone use these or other brands? And how much are some of these....

If you do an ebay search you'll find a chinese knockoff for about 150 bucks shipped. They look almost identical to the ARB. Thinking about trying one myself. I've heard they don't come with detailed instructions, but most of the installation is common sense. Just keep in mind that late model XJ's need the washer reservoir relocated

I bought the $130 one from ebay it comes with a cheap template and no instructions but I mean plastic is plastic and the snorkel itself doesnt feel cheap. For the price the chinese knock off is great, people with ARB's will tell you theyre garbage to justify the fact that they paid 3 times more for a snorkel that does the same job just as well. Only complaint i the hose it comes with is very thin and not durable at all id recommend you buy a heavy duty one at a hardware store for a couple bucks.

I would love to do some kind of cowl induction through the vent area in front of the windshield, however I can't think of a good way to keep rain water out, and I hate the look of the upside down "bowl" cover. I'm in the army and see them everyday on humvees, couldn't stand seeing one on my jeep.

Cowl induction is great. The way companies make their intake (like Spectre), they run the tubing to the dry or "fake" side of the cowl, where water is not an issue

To me it depends on what type of trails you want play on.Deep in the woods i see a tree smashing a fender snorkel.A cowl snorkel will be out of the way but if water comes fully over your hood your kinda screwed.

Probably wont do any woods trails just go through mud and water!
