Thread worked fine for me. Those comanches are too long(the wheel base).

Looks to me like the frame and a trimmed down bed from an MJ with the front 2/3rds of a cherokee. Probably used spare XJ doors and doorjamb sections and the back of the MJ cab to square out the back doors. The gas filler door appears to be in the XJ location so probably has the XJ tank. It's a very nice job.

looks like a commanche wheelbase then either a really nice job of making it a four door. not sure if they came four door or not, idk mj's

Thats what I was thinking. I was thinking of doing this as a project. I would keep the bed a bit longer.

I believe you're right... I really don't think it can be a chopped XJ because if it were, the rear wheel would be encroaching into the rear doors. Looks to me also as you said, that they added the rear passenger area onto the cab of the MJ, chopped the front and rear of the MJ bed and mounted it. As for it being a from the factory jeep - it would have had to been a special-order build... MJ's only came in two configurations - SWB and LWB both of which were 2-door.
