Don't get me wrong...it's stupid clean.
I would say 5k is spot on. You never get what you have in them.
I agree with this. I've accepted this fact and probably lost close to $20k in the last 10 years on vehicles.

that is a very nice looking xj.

wow. that XJ is definitely worth $8000. but the unfortunate thing is you're going to have to wait a good while for a buyer who knows somewhat what they're looking for and also has that amount of liquid reserve on hand. it's a bummer but you could make way more money parting that thing out piece by piece and converting it back to a stock cherokee, then sell it for a good chunk at blue book value. that's what I'd do

Before you lower the price, expand your market!

Someone else mentioned your limited market and I agree. XJ's as nice as yours are becoming more and more scarce with each passing year. With all of your replacements and upgrades, I think it is priced fair- with all the time and money invested, it's not like you're turning a profit at 7900.

I just finished researching and scouring the internet to find my next XJ, and I found it- 1300 miles away in Idaho. I didn't haggle, because a few others on my short list were selling fast. I jumped on this one with a deposit before I even saw a pic, based on the stellar carfax and dealer reputation (I've since seen pics and am thrilled with my purchase- I pick her up later this week.)

Someone out there wants your Jeep and is willing to pay your asking price and it will cost you less to buy some internet advertising than to lower your price.

Unless you need bail money or a life saving operation, be patient, you'll get what you want.

Good luck.

I agree you might have to wait for the right buyer. Not many people looking for an XJ would pay 8k. but I think if someone were looking at wranglers for 8k and saw this, theyd have to give it some consideration. this is a lot more jeep for 8k than you could find with a wrangler. at least around here.

4-5 days isnt long enough. If you don't have a serious buyer after 4-5 months then lower the price. And remember, people on craigslist are usually looking for a beater or a hot deal. I probably would pass on an $8,000 XJ.

Sounds like I need to be more patient and possible reach out to Wrangler buyers that might have a bit larger budget. This XJ is definitely worth more in parts than the whole. I just couldn't see tearing anything apart as I spent a good bit of time and money making sure it was well put together. I drove this thing to California and back with all the mods. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere.

Getting your money back out of it will be like my toolbox I'm trying to sell. I have almost 40K into it in 20 years. I'll be lucky to see 8K of it now. You do it because you like it.

Definitely not looking to get my money back. If I was there would be a 2 in front of the price. Hopefully someone sees this as a well sorted driver. An XJ in the $4k range buys you something that is going to need a decent bit of work. Most of the major cost maintenance with mine is done.

For everything done its a good starting price id go higher push its not like you can't sit on it someone will want the work already done
. Check these two out that are local here one stock 61k but salvage title for 7800 and a 89 for 6000 with little mods but 7k on the motor. There was another one that had a exo cage, 6inch rc long arm, 35 mt, with 4.56 gears for 10k.

Did you tag your ad? At the bottom you should throw a bunch of related words in that may help you reach interested people searching for other vehicles.

I'd put in something along the lines of...

Cj yj zj mj tj bronco wrangler blazer lifted pffroad mudder crawler 4runner pathfinder wagoneer Comanche

Anything related that someone who may be interested in your jeep might search for on Craigslist. Fwiw, I was searching for "wrangler" when I found the XJ I own.

I added a few more of your suggestions to my search terms. Had a very interested party stop by today and another over the phone. Might be sold very soon for a price near/at asking. Thx.

44? You mean the 30? It was a typo, corrected. Axles are stock aside from the 410's and the TrueTrac.
