Default Almost 200k miles. Worth buying?

So I am looking to buy my first jeep. I recently found an XJ on craig's list and it looks to have been well maintained (the guy says he has full maintenance records from 78k miles on) and in good condition. However it does have 197xxx miles on it and it is not the original owner. Also, I feel like asking $4000 is a bit on the high end of the price range considering the mileage. So I am wondering if you guys think this will be a generally reliable jeep despite the high mileage and what price would make this jeep worth buying. Here's the link to the jeep if you want to take a look at it:

200k is nothing, many here have 300+. My current jeep has ~240k, 97 had 278, other 89 had 212, girlfriends 96 has ~250.
There will be some common problems, may have to dump some money into it at first, but it will last you a long time with under 200k on it.

Too much money for a stock jeep.

Price is high, but I wouldn't let mileage alone scare you off.

Not too worried about miles, but price is waaaay too much. You will take a big loss after it hits 200k. Most people will automatically pass.

I just bought a '97 Country edition. Super clean. Last owner had it for 12 years. Has a CEL i need to fix, but I paid $1900. Has 191k miles.

If its super clean the question is, is it worth it to you? The '97s have a HP Dana 30 which is good. The 96 and ups had a better transfer case, better exhaust manifold (less prone to cracking) and a few more horses than earlier modles if I remember correctly, and it should have front, rear and tcase skids (worth a few hundred $) Ive had two '98s (sold one) and they both had that kind of mileage on them and they ran great. Does the A/C work? Talk him down a few hundred for the tears and cracked lights and it will be worth it. Drive it then decide. Sellers advertise high prices because they expect buyers to talk them down. If you have cash the ball is in your court...

See here it says "Up for bid is a 1997 Jeep Cherokee SE with the Up Country suspension. . ."

That screams make offer. That is a nice jeep. The Up Country package is skids and 1" taller than other models. If it was not across the country and I had cash Id buy it in a minute.
