Be a nice engine, if it didn't have Banks name on it. Their over priced crap aint worth it.

Yeah I have to agree about the price but the quality is good, my buddy has a 7.3L Powerstroke with tons of banks upgrades and they are awesome. I want to do a diesel swap to my XJ and saw this and got excited.

It would be a nice swap. Tell friend there is much better then Banks for the 7.3. A hell of a lot cheaper too. Banks is geared toward the non motor person that knows no better. Their stuff is mediocre with a high price.

I would love that engine in a jeep, just not Banks version of it.

I would love to put a diesel in my XJ when the 4.0L tanks. I have a feeling this thing is gonna cost an arm and a leg like the vw diesel swap. Glad to see someone finally making another package deal.

I have heard as cheap as 7K but if you buy the whole kit it's like 12K. But from what I have seen the Jeeps that get it around running mid/upper 30s mpg mix of city/highway.

I don't remember the website, but if you google "jeep vw tdi swap" it's one of the first ones it's a Canadian company I think.

Nice. It looks awesome, but with that "BANKS" logo on there it probably costs as much as the JK it will only fit into.

Banks. Lol. Anytime a generic tuning company comes into play, just avoid them.

thats the motor going into the 2014 dodge 1500 "ecodiesel" truck. chrysler owns 50% of VM Motori, and GM owns the other half. chrysler has ordered a **** load of those motors, and they have been reported to be found in the 300 as well. you can probably predict the future there. nissan is putting a CUMMINS 5.0 isv turbo V8 diesel in its 2015 titan too... in a few years, there will be more diesel engines than you can shake a stick at. which means that soon there will be some to yank at the local u pull or for sale on craigslist/kijiji, which is cool.

It's super cool that someone is doing this but looks like it would cost a fortune. They mention an XJ kit but I see no XJ info.

I've seen the 4BT in Wranglers. I'm sure someone has swapped that engine in an XJ.

If I were going to diesel swap a XJ, I'd like to see if a Detroit Diesel 453 T would work. 2 stroke diesel FTW!
