I’m looking at purchasing a 98 XJ. It’s super clean inside and out. 140,000 miles.Only issues is the heater isn’t working, the motor for the driver seat isn’t working and the passenger side door is having issues closing. The door literally flew open when I was test driving it with the owner. It’s a 23 year old Jeep so I know it’s going to have issues. I guess I was wondering if these are pretty easy fixes, especially the door.

The steering also seemed a little loose. I had a 2001 model 16 years ago, but I can’t remember how it drove or if the steering felt that loose.

I would appreciate any input

 

The heat not working would be my biggest concern.

What is wrong with the heater? It doesnt get hot? Blower motor doesnt work? Heater core is bypassed?
it could be a simple easy fix or it could be expensive.

 

I don't know about that, doors flying open when driving would be pretty high on my list, lol

OP everything sounds pretty minor, the heater core would be the most difficult, but not a show stopper.

 

As long as it's not my door.. Ejecto Seat CUZ! :P
