This is mine installed, with a custom block off plate.

I bought a smaller filter that fit where that hoes comes out of. The onlything was I had to shave down the rubber on the inside to get it to fit that takes care of that. Like I said I will pm you some pics of the set up. And thank you sir.

No, its not needed.

I just wanted to remove some of the hot air of the engine, as well as trail, road, or other types of debris fro getting in or around my filter.

I just cut a big hole in the old air box location with a whole saw. Still need to blox it off with something to stop larger items from getting in there, before the snow comes.

The plate isn't air tight either, its just a blocking plate, so even if the whole gets pluged from below it can still pull air from the top, or the head light. Just something I did for support and cleaning.

I took the top off of my air box and pushed it down in it.
