99 Cherokee vs 05 cherokee

99 is 4.7 v8 fully loaded with 135k miles, and 05 is v6 with 125k miles. Which year is more dependable? Easier to modify (lift, bigger tires, etc) thanks guys

Well neither of what you're talking about are actually Cherokees. They're Grand Cherokees.

You'll probably have better answers if you go to a Grand Cherokee forum. This is an XJ forum; not a ZJ or WJ forum.

The 99 has solid axles it can be lifted easier but the 4.7 if its not been taking care of will have big problems like head gaskets or timing chain.The 05 will be a nightmare to lift with its ifs and off road ifs is kinda a joke no ground clearance and made super weak.
