Default 99 Cherokee owns the snow

This is the headline if I were to write a paper about my jeep. With the pretty sizeable amounts of snow and ice we've had the last few days it was comforting to know, even if I go out of my way to get stuck, I didn't

Default Tires make all the difference

The snow kicked mine and my Jeeps ***** today . We got like 26" and I had the misfortune of paking on a main road and the snowplows ended up packing pass after pass of snow in a 4 foot wall right up against, around and under my Cherokee. It wasnt powder it was hard packed solid snow that was 4 feet high and extending out 4 feet into the road! After 3 hours of non-stop digging I thought I had cleared enough to muscle my way out but with my wimpy passenger car like treaded radial tires and having to hit it from a dead stop I was just stuck. I finally dug clear to the road and created a 2-3 foot area to build up some momentum and was able to pop over the remaining snow enough to get some traction and got free.

I love watching my neighbor go blasting out of his driveway in his AWD crossover thing (with low ground clearance) into deep snow. After letting him wallow around for about 20-30 minutes or so, I go out and pull him out with a tow rope.

Yesterday, I drifted into a 7-11 parking lot, spun it around, tossed it in reverse, and backed into my spot all in one motion. It was pretty smooth. I love playing around in the snow and on the ice. On my way home I stopped at my usual parking lot where I do donuts and it was a solid sheet of ice. It was amazing.
