Default 97+ rear mount tire carrier

I don't know if it's factory, but I've seen a couple of later model Cherokee's around my town with the spare mounted on the back, doesn't look bad either.

They were actually found on 84-90 xj's with the up country package, and are very hard to find

You would have to fab one yourself, or pay like 900 for one of the professional bumpers with tire mounts attatched... seen many people do a hitch tire mount, looks great and is very functional. me? i'd rather throw it up on the roof, i plan on not needing it XD but its easy access if i do, and takes up like no space.

i have been looking for the same thing.

all the aftermarket ones are really expensive.....but i think this on is the best:

my favorite part is that the bumper continues around the corners and replaces the lower rear quarter panel (the worst rusted spot on my xj)

Little pricey but here is what I came up with.

Also got the license relocation bracket and the High Lift bracket.

I was going to fab one up to lower and raise, but this seems like it might work better.

My question is...does the tailbone fit with a nonstock bumper as well....or just the stock one?

No, there is a write-up either on here or the other XJ site that someone did on where and how to add support to the XJ. It bolts onto the side of the qtr panel and also on the corner of the bumper.

It can be done and looks good when it is on the 97+ XJ's.
