'97 MJ (Yup, you heard me)
This really should go in the for sale forum, but I thought it would get more attention here. I'm trying to convince a friend down in LA to buy an MJ and I stumbled across this. It WAS an 88 MJ, but got all of the parts from a '97 XJ put in it.

Anyone ever considered doing something like this? I've thought of the idea, and I thought it was cool but I didn't think there was anyone crazy enough to actually make one.

I'd love to see that one up close to see what the quality is really like.
But yeah, that conversion has been done quite a few times before.

i think that one ended up rolling if i remember right.
as far as the red one, that thing looks Great! i would never pay anything near $9000 though. i dont care if it has a $2000 paint job, means nothing to me.

How can it be legally titled as a 97 Comanche, when no such vehicle exists? Especially in CA where they vehicle laws are so strict. Changing the fenders and dash does not change the VIN, and even if the 97 XJ VIN was used that should have given it a 97 Cherokee salvage/rebuilt title.

My thoughts exactly Winston. Something is very fishy here. I don't believe this Guy. What would they use as the smog target? A 1997 Comanchee? It would be interesting to see the title. Or take one of the harder to change VIN numbers and run it.
