According to the "Budget Build Thread" they are a direct bolt in. I went and looked at a set off Craigslist and I don't see how they would fit. Anyone got a picture of this setup? Are there differences between a 4 door and a 2 door? With vent windows or without? Anyone have a picture of the two side by side? Anything else that might help would be great, too.

I did the mirror swap on mine, I don't have vent windows and it's a four door. I don't see why they wouldn't fit others though. It was super easy to swap, you'll need to pull door panel loose to access the screws. One of my favorite things I've done to my xj, the mirror size is noticeably larger and my old ones were hard to see out of. It's a bolt on direct swap. I got mine from auto part store, not sure who has best price though.

After having seen your pics, I'm thinking the guy might have had GC mirrors and just didn't know it. The triangle shaped piece of trim that attaches to the door was taller than the mirror itself, which doesn't seem to be the case with ours.

 

Yeah, sounds like he had GC mirrors, I don't think you'll have a problem finding the correct ones.
