91 axle swap with a later model

91 axle swap with a later model
what do i have to do i have a 91xj with the piece of crap vacuum actuator and want to swap it with a later model with out the actuator do i have to do anything special also how does it work as far as it locking into 4wd is it the same as the 2 piece axle?
