Looks clean. The hood latch was probably pulled and who ever took the picture didn't notice.

With 168k If it was a little newer it would be great as a DD. If it will be just wheeled nd a toy then Deff hop on it. If it wil be a dd i would walk away even if its got abunch of options, 23 years alot can happen...

Default True true but.....

as a dd i have a 89 limited runs very strong with 219,000 and being that old interior is great also if thats a inline 6 very easy to work on and cheap a newer car is more reliable but that doesnt mean it wont break down a jeep/ ride will take care of you as well as you take care of it carfax it
im new to having a jeep but not new to having old rides i think the 88 dont have abs

Look at the second post by ToledoXJ I know this is for a 97-01 but still has critical points. All credit goes to the OP Shoveldog and all other posters there.

That's one good looking 88! I wish mine was that clean haha. If it runs and drives as good as it looks then go for it. I drive my 88 daily and other then. Switching my cooling system over. Haven't had any complaints

Go for it, great price and a clean rig. I have a 95 ZJ with the 4.0 and 189k miles on it. I drive 80 miles a day in it and never worry about it breaking down, I would drive it cross country in a heart beat. I've only had one break down and it was only a bad alternator. I'm shooting for 300k miles before I start planning on buying another Jeep.
