I got a 96 jeep Cherokee an I spun the drive shaft. Is one out of a automatic the same? I can get one out of a automatic for free an cant find one for a 5 spd

 

Should be close in length, the more you know about doner shaft the better- year, TC model... It's all yokes, so drop your shaft and go comparin' maybe?

 

no the 5speed will be longer i beleive by a few inches. my buddy has a five speed and looked into using my old one when his bit the dust and it wasnt long enough.

 

Well that sucks. I'm stuck with no ride now. I might take on out of a old Chevy truck an shortin it cuz I have a Dana 44 yoke on it already an I got to buy special u joints. My rear has to be tough. This was a new drive shaft an before that I was breaking yokes lol. I must have a heavy foot or summin lol

 

Yup, Clayton 3854 is correct. A manual transmission is shorter than an automatic so the driveshaft from the manual transmission is longer.

 

Does anyone have a used 5 spd drive shaft they would wanna sell?
