I had almost forgot about these guys three of them in different 4x4's traveling across Africa. This was in the month of Dec 2013, I have contacts ranging from 12/2 -12/28 they were using 100 watt mobile radios, with portable antennas.


What made me think of these was I received a bunch of Bureau QSL Cards last week they were in it only 2 yrs. late but I got them. All of the contacts were on 10/12/15m.


This was hardcore 4 wheeling on their part in some dangerous areas all of my contacts with them were on my base station except for 1 and that was on 10m in my 04 WJ using a 200w Kenwood mobile and screwdriver antenna. Usually I work mobile QRP under 5w and from my XJ using wire antennas its a great hobby.

If you are interested there is a convoy of military vehicles making its way across the country in the near future and they will have special event stations along the way. Not quite DXpeditions I know but the Veteran, Jeeper, and Ham in me finds the combination of the 3 neat.
