Default 4500 lbs winch with ****** block

my bugit is tight so i was wandering if it is ok to get a 4500 lbs and use a ****** block to make it have 9000 lbs of pulling power. If anyone has done this or knows anything about it i would appreciate it

Save your money until you can afford a winch that can single line pull 1.5 times the weight of your rig.

Nothing less than 8k.

For the money to get a 45 you might aswell get an 8000 or more because they arnt that much different in cost. And personally I feel like its something that you want to be overly prepared with because when you need it you don't want to be failed by something that is too small.

X 2, 1.5 times the weight of your rig is the magic number for a winch with enough pulling power to get you out of whatever mess you might find your Jeep in. I have an XRC8000 on my Jeep. I got a smokin deal on and it works great.

The main problem with this is small ATV winches usually have 50 foot or less of cable, so if you have to use the ****** block and double the cable, and you are not within 20 foot of a anchor point you are screwed.

A winch is an investment and if given reasonable care will last many years, and can be moved from this rig to the next one, so do yourself a favor, save and buy the best quality you can afford.

1.5 time the weight of your rig trail ready = acceptable
2 times the weight of your rig trail ready = preferred

I started with a ramsey 8000 and burnt it up fairley quick like six months or so.. Mind you the pull it died on the jeep was dangling over a ledge I didn't mind burning the winch seeing as I would of had to buy a new jeep if I didn't have it
Really bad situation lol now I have the smittybiult xrc10 and I highly recomend it the thing won't die

the problem with a 4500 pound winch is the cable. it's only good for max about 2500 pounds shear strength, then the hook is most likely only good for about 2200 pounds.
even if you put a heavier cable on it, it would be too heavy for the motor to pull the jeep in.
