40 series vs. super 44
im lookin for a mean soundin muffler and ive decided im goin to get one of these 2 (a 40 series flowmaster or a super 44 flowmaster)...im basically lookin for somthing that has a nice good tone, but NOT with the "bumblebee'' soundin stuff like the retarded honda civics you see goin down the road,im mostly set on one of these two,and i am not wantin one thats too loud,so pretty much a dd to shool and back low sound..any advice/help would be appreciated!

I have a 44 and absolutley love it the only downfall I could see is if you dont like the noise inside the cab but im perfectly happy with it. Heres a vid of a ride along in mine if ur interested.

I found that the 44 had more of an aggressive sound and less cab drone than the 40. This is basing off of a mustang though. I run a magnaflow on the xj..

I just put on a super 44 about 2 months ago. It sounds great during idle and accel. To me I think it quites down around low 2000's rpm which is great for highways but picks back up around 3200rpm. Its not too loud either you can have a conversation without having to yell. The super 44 is shorter then the stock muffler so you have to add pipe in before or after the muffler.
