Hey guys i have a bunch of 4 inch wide channel laying around and was thinking about goin on and starting my rear bumper with it but wasnt sure if 4 inches is wide enough to make it look right. What do yall think? i figure it should look decent and be nice and close up to the body. Im gona use plating to but the channel will be the main part of it.

Very nice job of working with what you had. You do need to make or order some D-Ring attaching points made from 1" thick steel with a 1" hole in them welded on to fit a 7/8" shackle. You can buy these from many venders also.
I hope you did use all the bumper mounting holer and all the hitch mounting holes also. This is a must if you ever need to be pulled out of a bad spot. Most all places will not let you use chain's anymore and straps with loops only on most rides you go on with others.
If you were to use a factory style hitch with a receiver modified for a D-Ring that will work for a rear recovery point. One for the front is necessary also again strength will be a factor for a recovery.
I'm sure from looking at your work you can do all of this OK. But the welds must be very good because of the pulling factor.

Thanks for all the advice man. Im working on 1/4 plated to bolt to the stock mounts then making tires to run the unibody to bolt were the trailer hitch should bolt to im taking it to my buddies shop that has a good miller and is a very good welder. I dont want to take anychances on the mounts and reciver since I occasionaly pull my harley on a trailer deffantly want to feel confident when the trailer is hitched. I am also having the d ring mounts made at work just like u said they should be done this week.
I have plans for a front bumper next but have a baby on the way next month so the rest of my plans may be delayed slightly.....

I used a big piece for my winch plate. I just cut the back off and it gave me 7 or so inches.
I have some more laying around that I'm trying to think of a use for lol
