True Titan sleeper for " jeep speed "
I jus bought a salvaged 01 xj ,was thinking of a stroker build up but saw the Titan motor. Im goin to order one on income but Im going with the aluminum head, crank shaft, pistons, water pump and so on. Only cus it's lighter and makes more power . Also putting edelbrocks 1600 cfm 4barrel competition throttle body, msd6 off road, full metal jacket incased spark plugs, aluminum starter n alt, Baja competition cooling system for ac, radiator, tranny, t-case, front n rear axles. pace setters headers, true custom dual exhaust with electric cut outs, cherry bombs pro series muffler, custom ram air hood, Race and street legal performance chip n computer program, rock ram front n rear assist steering. Rock krawlers 8" front and rear coil over and 4 link, sitting on 35's. Full squared and flared roll cage, the only thing I have not decided on is either gettin a " spyder 9 " axle with Dana 60 inner/outer, or danna 44 with competition truss support. IT's going to be a 2yr build but at the end of it all it will be worth it n I'll race it as well. It's basically the ideal race/street legal jeep

V8s sound awesome but imo the straight six is a better configuration.
I'm not sure I should post that on a US forum

Maybe it's just me, but I've always wondered if the reliability of an engine goes done the more it is stroked. I can't help buy think going out that far from 4.0 to 4.9 has to have a downside.

X2 And have a better package, more power/torque, less weight, better gas mileage and more reliable. Plus it would sound much better. But I guess for someone without the skills and know how to swap in a V8, a bolt in stroker with a warranty really aint a bad deal. Wish there was more detail on it. I didn't see any info on cylinder head or camshaft specs. 8.9:1 compression is a joke. Get that up around 10.5:1, it would still run fine on pump, and I bet there's a lot more power in the head and cam and it would run pretty good. I have a friend that sank about $7k into building a 4.9 to run 6 cyl mud drags, a serious one. 12.5:1, custom cam, 650 holley, etc. It's been sold twice to other friends now but it's undefeated when it's not broken, lost a head gasket and a rocker arm once. Even does very well in v8 classes with big blocks.
