4.5" and 6.5" lifts with 31's pics.
It's that time again too build another cherokee. mine is getting a little tired of being my DD and would like to be retired to an offroad only/ garage kept rig. I am purchasing a newer 97-2001 body style xj soon and it will b my new DD. I am getting a rough country susp. Since I can get a brand new one for very cheap from a guy I know. I'm building it to Maine state laws so the tires have to legally be 31's. I want the 6.5" x series but i want to see the difference in the 6.5 and 4.5 with 31's. please post pics and other useful info. if you have 32's thats fine too but nothing larger. Thanks every1

4.5 and definitely 6.5" lifts will look dumb with 31s. Too much lift for that size of tire on an XJ. 3-4" lift looks good with 31s.

You gotta do what looks best to you. If your Jeep looks cool to you then it's all good. Those 31s are biggest I've ever seen but, Swampers usually do look bigger for a given size than any other tire.

I usually run 33's on my current xj with a 6.5 that's settled to about 6. I just hate getting dumb tickets by the same jerk once every 2 months. That's why I wana see what 31's look like in a few different pictures so I know what one I like better. Btw I was thinking the same thing bout those tsl's

any vehicle can only change tire sizes by 3 sizes or inches over what it says max is in the door. So a Cherokee being under 1/2 vehicle it says 235/75/r15 max on door. you can go 3 inches more than that or 3 metric sizes more not to mention frame height limits me to 31" rear 28" front. my current xj I drove with 6.5" lift on 33x12.5's. my bud has a 7" custom long arm with 35" crushers. cops don't really care I go by a hundred cops a month but as long as it's "within reason" but technically it's illegal and I've gotten pulled over 4 times by the same guy just because he wants to ruin my day. my dad puts on my sticker and I keep an inspection manual with me when I ride legal. (on my 31" snow tires) but a 130 dollar ticket 5 times a year when I'm on 33's doesn't help with college and gas.
