Default 33x12.50 vs 35x12.50

Help me decide. Need to get tires soon and I'm debating either staying with 33x12.50's or jumping up to the 35x12.50's.

If I stay with the 33's I'll either get the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's, or Goodyear Wrangler MT/R-K's, or General Grabbers RED Letters.

If I jump up to the 35's I'll either get the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R-K's, or General Grabbers RED Letters.

But out of those which would have the best tread life on road and be the best all around tire. I don't want to worry about punctured side walls when airing down and hitting the trails.

So let me know your opinions. Thanks.

I can't say much for the red letters, but if you are looking for mpg's, the duratracs would be best. But yet, they are 1ply sidewalls, and all bad reviews stem from that. 1ply is no fun.

MT/rs are beast

I just put a set of MTR's 315/75/16 on my XJ......replaced some 33" Super Swampers......they have only been on a few days.

I would stick with the 33's personally. I also recommend the Duratracs.

The last ppl I wheeled with had Goodyear kevlars. They did awesome on the trail.....I'd go 35s. Most ppl regret getting smaller when they have to decide. I know I do. Getting 35s soon

There's only one way to get more space under your diff's... I had 36" SX's on my sammi, not sure yet if I want to go that route with the xj, but I probably will.

Grabber red letters are a solid tire but are also heavy. Mtr kevlars do have a lot of issues with the side wall
