Default 33s on 3:55 gearing, need some advice

Ok so my 31s are starting to get low, and I have some extra cash so i can buy new tires, and i am looking to get some 33s. but heres the thing. I have a d30 with 4:10s already installed. but i havent found a rear axle yet and as most of you know its cheaper to swap then to regear, also i have a d35 in the back i have never had any real problems with it, its completely rebuilt. So my question is, would i be ok to run with 33s for a bit till i have find a rear axle to swap over. Im not so worried about it being slugish cause i dont drive like a retard anyways. but im more worried about how it will be on the tranny. I dont do a whole lot of highway driving and i dont drive like speed racer. but I do have to do a 2- 2.5 hour drive (and back) at the end of the month. would it be ok to run 33s?

Iv been doing it for about two years, kills the city gas mileage ( like it something to brag about anyway) but as long as your not driving like Ken block it will manage find. Only real thing to worry about are the d 35 if your wheeling it and if u got enough lift. I'm at 5.5 and I had to trim a good amount

I already installed a good performance tranny cooler about 3 weeks ago.

Ya shouldn't have a problem i run chopped up tj flares all the way around they like there about the same height as the flat fenders. just once u put them on find some were to flex it out and check for proper bump stop height if u like the fenders being the same shape as they are. Don't make the same mistake I did

You should be fine. Fender clearance shouldn't be an issue either since the flat wackers give much more clearance.

It's fine. You'll get about 18 MPG with cruise control on a constant trip with 3:55 gears and 33's.

It's stop and go traffic that kills your gas mileage. I've had 33's and stock gears for a while now. My average MPG even with stop and go traffic is 14-16.

Not bad if your doing 65 70 poor accel after 55 ends up working pretty well with a light foot rpms stay low and if your not running a lot of hills mileage isn't to bad, once again with a light foot. Only time it sucks is when your in the mountains that's when u have to start keeping a eye on your temp

now is that for constant hills or is that pretty much any hilly road the temp will go up?

No I'm talking like 2 or 3 miles of steep grade I never over heat just runs hotter then I like to see 230 area and when the coolants that high I now the trans is probably in the 200 area ( not good ) u want the trans to stay around 170- 180, 190 isn't that bad for if its not running there for extended period. I've driven it from pa to Tennessee with no problem besides my wallet
