Looking to get some new wheels for my 1999 4.0 XJ and would like some advise (pics would be great) on which tyres would be better. Taking things like rolling circumference (and any issues this may cause with diffs), cosmetic superiority etc.
Im currently riding on 225's :

Your original post mentions differentials, but you won't need to worry about that with 31s. For 3" I'd go no larger than 30", not that you couldn't fit 31's, but they'd be a little too stuffed for my preference. I prefer having plenty of space between fender and tire, so 235s wouldn't look bad at all IMO. For what it's worth, here is mine with about 3.5" and 30s. When looking at the side, I can hardly tell a difference between my 30s and 235s, but they are just a little wider.

So I don't need to worry about the diffs getting knacked !!
I can get :
5 x 235x75 General Grabber AT2's for £480 (including the fitting, balancing and alignment)
or
5 x 235x75 BFG AT for £597 (including the fitting, balancing and alignment)
£120 difference. mmmmm

what is stock tire size on a cherokee? the one i'm getting has 235/75's on it now and has quite a bit of fender clearance. almost, if not the same, as 95xj sport's if the flares were still on. i assumed it was the stock size, but guess not.
wonder if it has a BB or something on it...

no, its still in the junkyard i'm buying it from. waiting for a few non rainy/snowy days so the ground can dry out so i can drive it out without rutting his property up.
but maybe itdont sit as high as yours, that first pic was kind of decieving.

Oh, if that's a full front-end alignment, possibly with the 4x4 surcharge most places have, that's a little more reasonable.
