Strongly recommend against this? its like saying i strongly recommend getting a lift. Its a personal choice, all i cut was the first little lip and its fine.I can still put my fenders back on if i want.It all depends on how and where you cut, if you do it right, it wont come out all hacked up.

33's on 3" looks stupid and I wouldn't do it is what I'm saying. You're better off running 31's or waiting until you can run a bigger lift.

Ok I posted the pics of mine a couple post up. I just bought it on Friday. And I understand the reason for not going to 33s on 3 inches of lift. Would a coil spacer and rear blocks help remedy the issue for the least amount of money as a temp solution? And this weekend I will go out and do a twist test on mine and post pics of it. I need to find out its limits... lol.

thats merely an opinion. 33's fit absolutely fine on a 3" lift and there are many reasons to do it.

blocks do not belong on anything that is wheeled. especially a 1/4 ton xj.

what reason wouldnt you do 33's on a 3"? all it takes is a little trimming and bumpstops. and most people would have to do the same amount of trimming and bumpstops to run them on a 4.5 lift. more lift doesnt make your wheel openings any larger. bumpstops are an important part of any suspension. they dont just limit uptravel, they protect your shocks, and springs from overcompressing and provide a softer surface for the suspension to bottom out on.

I do have bump stops. Installed so good. Like I said though I will twist test mine and post the pics up this weekend. As for my off roading It will mostly be mud and not really rock crawling but in my area there are some good elevation changes... Like I said I got this last Friday and have alot to learn about the xj platform.

Well then dont, and how does it look stupid? Thats just your opinion, and you dont have many good ones from what I can see. I mean y do you hate on 33''s, just because you dont hav'm or what. Or you dont know how to trim? Because I can show you if you want, maybe youl feel different about'm.
