265/75r16s with a 5" lift
Evening everyone,
I've been in the market lately for some new tires. I currently have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with a rusty's 3in lift and I'm running tread wright 30/9.5r15s. I bought a 1.75" BB so I can hopefully fit a set of 265s comfortably.
I plan on buying these tires from tread wright.
265/75r16
And these wheels from 4x4 group buy.
Black Rock Type D
Now this is where I need some help. And yes I know I'm a cheapskate
Thanks, Dkoke

- Is this a good idea?
- What troubles might I have?
- What would be a good back spacing and wheel width?
- Who has a similar setup?
Thanks, Dkoke

if i remember correcttly... 265's are something close to a 32 but a little smaller if i recall. If if tells you anything, ive got a jeep with 31's stock no trimming.

According to the tread wright website they say the 265 load C, has a outer diameter of 32.2. With the 30s I have now, 31s wouldn't make to much of a difference.

That sounds about right, You can fit 32's with 5" easily. Shouldnt be a problem as long as you get the backspacing right so you dont rub on the LCA's

What seems to be the general consensus on 32s and backspacing? Or is is based off of what you typically use your jeep for? I plan on using it as a DD and as possibly a 2-3 times a moth weekend trail rig. The trail I usually go to consist of sand flats and hills, nothing that requires a lot of flex.

I think the normal backspacing people get is.. 3.75? Its mostly based on how you want the jeep to look. I know with the backspacing i have on mine, stuffing is impossible in the front as my tires stick out past the flares.

I have just put Treadwright 264/70/16's on mine with 4 inches of lift. Using a wheel with 4" BS. They measure 31.5" mounted. I did need to trim some off the front of the bumber covers and the do lightly rub on the back fender side of the flares if I hit a bump while turning. They do not rub on the LCA though, even at full lock. I will try to get a pic later after I get off work.
Hopes this helps.
