Default 2001 XJ turn signal stops working?

I've got a 2001 XJ, and when I go to use my turn signal, either left or right, it'll stop working. It doesn't do it all the time or right way, some times I'll turn my blinker on and it'll flash twice and turn right off with the lever still up, sometimes it wind do it after a minute or so, sometime not even at all. What could the problem be?

Do your emergency flashers work properly? If so, swap the flasher relays with each other and see if that solves your problem.
