Default 2001 JGCL Transmisson Issue

So I recently just bought a 2001 JGCL, and the transmission is slipping. From first to second gear it has virtually no power at all and stays at 2000 RPMs. Once I get past first gear it regains power but shifts really hard into every other gear and is leaking transmission fluid. I've read some more forums and it seems to be a common issue. The codes it is throwing are for the governor pressure solenoid and the transducer. I was told my best bet was to just rebuild the transmission. Anybody else have this issue? And is a rebuild necessary?

Take it to a transmission shop and let them tell you what is wrong with it and a cost to repair. That will give you an idea then you can have it repaired somewhere or buy one from a SY lots around that will give you at least some warranty.

I find a lot of parts in Joplin that aren't in Springfield for both my Jeeps. W. 7th St. in Joplin has a lot of places, large ones.
