Default 1998 xj bogging down/surging

so i have a 1998 xj 4x4 with a 4.0 automatic at 233,xxx miles on it
so this is what happens it recently started doing this and does it almost everytime i drive it which bugs me alot

when i first start my jeep she idles fine i take her down the road and she will run and drive fine without any issues for 100-200 feet the i hear a poping/buckling sound i think the aw4 and she loses all power its starts from 0-25mph and when it happens it goes to a near crawl but if i give it about 1-4 mins she will be all fine and the poping/buckling sound goes away the thing is i get no error codes at all i just bought the jeep about a month ago and have maybe a couple hundred miles i personally put on it has anyone had an issue like this also to add when it goes away it does come back up at all i can stop and go in traffic and she goes fine and reverse seems good i even try to kinda force to come back but it wont
just did
cap, rotor, button, wires, plugs fluids seem fine(reading full and no burnt smell red in color) in tranny no leaking of oil i just need to be put in a good direction to dianose this this is my first xj

ive been reading post but none have my poping sound when its happens and my jeep wont die she doesnt stall out just takes some time and i tried letting her idle for 15 mins before driving her but will still happens so im assuming its the tranny
