Default 102" whip tie down

wanting to see how you guys have tied down long whips.

ive seen guttermount tie downs that are nice and only $5 but i wanna make one. plus those ground out the system and i cant use it then.

im thinking some pracord and a soloman (cobra) stick may look decent and work alright...

i just tucked mine into my padlock that holds my hi-lift onto my rack.
you can just tuck it into the side rails on the rack if you have a rack.

I've been thinking about getting one of their 102 whips for a while now. Have heard great reviews about them

How hard are they to tune

i got mine at radio shack...

THERE IS NO TUNING!!!! its 1/4 of the bandwidth or some **** like that so its perfect. when i put my spring on the swr on 40 barely went up above swr on 1 so its all good.

amazing reception.

i have a temporary tie down i made with paracord. it looks like the survival bracelets cause i did a cobra stitch. works for now.

when its down swrs go up. not maxed out but in the 3 zone only because it isnt pointing up. but it still works decent when down, just not gettin 30 miles out of it lol

like that setup but co has to many tight trails that makes rocks bash into the jeep. i was thinking maybe rear bumper or something maybe on the latch... thanks for the idea though will make a trip to radio shack pretty soon

i have mine mounted to my bumper, but i have to pull the antenna to the side whenever i open and close my hatch.
but it's never hit a rock and tore away from my heep...

i didn't use a spring, i don't want the thing springing back and forth hitting my jeep all day from tree branches.

it flops back and forth a bit, but nowhere near what it would be like if it were on a spring.
