Default Yup...just another set of tube doors.

Stated with 30' of 1.5 Mild steel. Measured the spaces needed, and started cutting tube in pairs.

Made both lower sections

Fit all the tubes.Used pre cut 3/16x1.5 round caps, local steel shop has them in the fence section

bent the upper tubes

then welded the tubes together

transfer the design to the other side for checking, tacking

Lay them out and finish weld both pieces

#RL13400-L left
#RL13400-R right

normally i would say hell ya...except my heep has been hit before...so i cant vouch for the straightness of the body..both door frames are EXACT....but i welded the hinges with the doors mocked "in place" so on a bench..they are different. If i did make another set..i wouldn't tig the whole thing...just too time consuming.

I use a cheapo harbor freight notcher...but modified.replaced the bronze bushings with oilite, and have it mounted to a dedicated 1 hp 16 speed drill press, with high grade carbide tooth cutter...works *****in.

Nice, we had the harbor freight notcher at my shop and the bushing blew up the second week we had it. Now we just use a grinder, takes longer but IMO works just as good.

I had the same problem..but is was worth the rebush with oilite for sure, i like the nother verses the grinder though, its a bit cleaner and faster, besides, hole saw bits last a lng time and are really cheap.

Chop saw works for notches if your gonna mig them...and reallt fast.just messy.

decided against any kid of extra latch, just no need for the extra weight, the latches are easy enough to get to.
