Beautiful work! I tried the C2C floor panels and there was too much up the sides of the trans tunnel. Ended up taking out the whole floor and getting a one piece replacement floor pan. Still had to fab and weld in some patches. In fact I'm dropping the pan in tomorrow and starting to tack it in. I agree with the solid wire & gas. I did the patches with flux core. What a P.I.A!!! to grind out. I'll have to get more pics tomorrow and start posting. My tear out pics got lost in a hard drive crash. And thanks for the chassis saver idea. Gonna see if it can be found around here. Your method seems ideal for the CJ (it's next to get worked).

Good Job! Its nice to sse an XJ that was in worse condition than mine I used floor pans from Sherman Parts- got them pretty cheap. I can't do any welding- so I just riveted mine in. That worked for a while, but still melted my sisters shoe to the floor after getting my header put on I have since fiberglassed everything and it works GREAT! It also helps with noise And, I agree- Herculiner SUCKS!! I used it on all the pans, and it is starting to peel off! I'm going to have to redo the coating, but it works for now.

yes mig, millermatic 180 its a 220v machine, was bought new like 6 months before this project to weld a roll cage in a drag car. Best money I spent in a long time, welder, not the drag car.
