XJ front brake options????

I have been searching the web and various forums looking for information leading me to boost my braking performance of my 96 Cherokee. any suggestions of a reasonable upgrade route?

not reasonably priced. but WJ knuckle swap
or swap in a rear end with disc brakes
but I guess they also sell 'performance' rotors too.
