Nope i am still here i was just gone this weekend. I will start at the top. haha
No the hood doesnt hit them, and yes i can just reach out the window to adjust them. I don't use them as driving lights so i don't need to flip the switch unless i am offroad. I did take it off road on sat. and i see what u mean by they might get torn off but i don't to to much extreme brush driving, haha there was some close calls though. I plan on putting two more swithces below that for the roof lights i will get and back up lights. Pheww haha

do you have to pull the whole windshield wiper panel off to get those side pieces out? im gonna mount my hellas in the same spot you have yours at

i installed mine about 2 inches inward than his and my hood opens fine, and no real blind spot
