This is how I would set them up if I had them. According to my local laws, turn indicators need to be able to be seen from the side, aswell as the rear of the vehicle. I'm not sure if brake indicators follow the same rule, but I think it would look funny with just the yellow turn indicator on the side, and having the brake indicator light on the side aswell as the rear wouldn't hurt anything.
P.S. All lights would be round, even though some of my "Circles" are actually ovals. I wasn't looking for perfection and I was using MS Paint.

I know what the white LEDs are there for, and as I said, it's a good concept. I just don't like the way it looks. If I would get these light housings, I would probably get LED lights from Whelen. Whelen is a rather large company that sells lighting for emergency vehicles, among other products. Being a firefighter myself, I have personally seen the quality of Whelens lights and would see them as a very good option.
What, no Caddy taillights ???
JK ... Good work
Thought about busting some of these out too, First for my service truck then the Yeep...
I drive an `06 StupidDuty with a Stahl Utility body, which utilizes like an `86 Ford taillight....bugs me everytime I look at it...
Nice job

I was going to build a set but then i heard that you need to replace a sensor or relay or something to make all the lights work. i guess that if you chop the wires to connect into the LED that it thinks the bulb is burned out. any ideas what needs to be replaced? and where to get them?

Well mine are not metal tail light housings but I’m building these for greater visibility for Search and Rescue. I wanted to keep the OME look but increase my visibility and be able to hook up my strobes to the amber half of the light. These are very bright! I got the idea looking on EBay for LED xj tail lights and nothing. Then I measured the light housing and 4” square is what I came up with. So I found 4” square LED fender post mount for a semi. I’m in the middle of cutting and mounting them into the old housings now.
