You guys are definitely going at this the hard way. Do what I did. Hop on the local Offroad website one saturday morning, check the classifieds, find a fiberglass 3" pin-on hood for 20 bucks. Call the guy and haul ***** down there to get it before somebody else does.
Clean up, prep, paint, and install.

But really, you're doing a good job! I'm diggin' it.

I will have to get in on the hood mod too, they look very cool.
I've attempted this 3-4 times and always end up with a wavy hood covered with 300# of Bondo......it simply pisses me off to no end.
I've tried adding steel to the hood to absorb heat.....no luck.
I've tried .023" wire and the lowst heat possible....no luck.
I've tried stitch welding....no luck.
I've tried spotwelds.....no luck.
I think I just suck at welding to the zinc-rich, paper thin body panels. It's time to move on and try my hand at fiberglass instead.

So if I use my hood as a template and attempt to make these what are people willing to pay for a pin on fiberglass cowl hood? I am great with bondo and body work, so I have confidence I could make these with some practice.
