also helps push into a rock when going up a ledge higher then your bumper. works like a ramp to help lift the front up and onto the rock. rather then have your bumper flat and push into the rock. i am not a big fan but think some look cool, but there the small ones lol

That stinger wouldn't save you. If you nose dived off a dropoff that thing would bend right over against the hood. The uprights are too long. Without major bracing that stinger is all show. I like stingers but that thing will have any cop that see's you, harassing you!!

in a crash with front smashed in 1' I think that thing will be in your windshield, coming after you! My Bro says everyone will think your over-compensating for something?? On a trail only rig I say brace the hell out of it. If it see's street action cut it down. This will get you pulled over & they don't stop at one ticket, this could make them start taking notice to the smaller/normal stingers. That stinger will get you noticed but not in a good way. Imo anyhow.

Close, but wrong & wrong.

The stinger ended up being used for those purposes yes. But it started because one day a Jeep dealer employee realized he could cut 20 minutes out of his morning if he didn't have to hang his laundry before he left for work. SO, he bent a piece of tubing, popped it on the front of his truck, and air dried it all on his way to work.

the stinger also protects your radiator and such from a roll over. I love mine! works great also.

That's his deal. No disrespect to anyone, but i didn't violate any rules and it's a common saying so lets all thicken our skin a bit.
