I just Rhino-lined my roof rack and rock rails with about 5 coats !!! Took forever to wire brush the rust off, then sand, primer and then paint !!! I have about 3-4 coats of primer as well !!! The only issue with the spray on liner when you spray anything but a flat surface is runs. How I beat that was, I would spray a coat on and immediatelysmooth it over with my hands wearing latex gloves. I would then wait 10-15 min and go look for any runs again and smooth them over again. Because you are putting so many coats on, you dont have to worry about tiny imperfections like normal enamel. Of course, doing it in a garage thats temp controlled is much better for the drying process. After my final coat, I left it sitting for 2 more weeks in a colder dry area and the stuff hardened up like crazy !

Yeah they work great, and it's great for the intake, always gets cold air, and the design keeps water out.

And darkwave, I plan on doing my roof rack this summer. Could you post some pics of how it came out?

I didnt want the new bolts, washers and nuts to rust so I only used grade 8, plus they are super strong !!! And no matter how long you let the rhino-lining cure for, it will depress and possibly come off when you tighten bolts on your rack so I got those white nylon washers from home depot and put them on first, then the metal hardware and it worked great ! The rack is so tight up there you would have to rip off the roof to take it off !!!
