Melted my finger to the muscle! I was just tacking in some plate on the sides, and bam! Learned my lesson the hard way. I will never weld gloveless again. I can just about make a fist, so it should be finished soon.

Slag sucks. I was wearing gloves when I learned my lesson, no jacket though, it got me in the arm. Not nearly as bad as that though. It looks like you're pretty much rebuilding that frame only beefier. Why not do the uprights as well?

I boxed the sides with 3/16 plate, no pic yet.

Had a small bit of slag land right in the center of my flip flop, then I stepped on it.

well press stuff! I just hated that every time I used it, it would use half the force to rack the frame. It's total overkill, but that's my way! I've seen guys put 30 ton cyls on with no problem.
