Default Rear Storage/Privacy Shelf

So after seeing some people on the forum make some shelves and things i decided i wanted to make one. My Grandpa got me a peice of 1/2 in MDF from home depot for 1.01 lol. it had screw holes in it so it was cheap. Then i bought two pieces of 1x2x8 and cut those for supports. I then bought automotive carpet from amazon for 20 bucks i think? I bought 2 linear yards that were 40" wide. Then i just used some adhesive spray, and a staple gun. Oh and an angle iron for support.

Heres the angle support

And the other side i just rested it on the sub enclosure

The wood i got with the supports i added

It stays in there nice and snug and doesn't move or shake. Plus when the trunk is closed you cant really see anything under it. Its pretty sturdy too

Very nice work. That looks CLEAN. Make sure to spend as much time with your grandpa as possible. Mine taught me most everything I know about vehicles, and I'm thankful I had as much time with him as I did when he was still around. Grandfolks are absolutely irreplaceable.

i got it from quadratec but its made by Select Increments and its called the "XJ pod". http://www.selectincrements.com/xjpod.html

I wouldnt recomend buying the sub that comes with it. its very cheap. I replaced mine with a kicker. They sell them with or without a sub. there kind of pricy but its worth it especially if you can find a used one. the hole fits an 8 inch sub and is actually very space saving. i bought mine for 150 i think with the sub but its like 90 or so without the sub

thanks! and yea it doesnt move too much. its just big enough to slid in and out easily but snug enough to not bounce around. (but i havent gone offroading with it yet so idk how it is on big bumps)

Do you have exact measurements on the shelf itself?

You may have a few folks wanting to copy your idea

The angle iron you have on the LH side, is it just screwed into the panel or is it screwed into the sheetmetal behind the panel?

I did sort of the same thing but I added a center support and mounted my Hi lift on the top and I added a pull out drawer on the right side.
