I've seen it happen on older rusty XJs. If they're ripping off maybe you should build some new ones, add in some gussets and make it strong.

Yes. I had to build new mounts for mine. Also check out synergy suspension for their XJ spring mount.

Could you post some pics? I have the same shackle reloc kit gonna go in and have been looking at making something similar to this:

http://www.rustysoffroad.com/builder...-brackets.html

Or buying those and them making a similar brace for the shackle box.

Lmao. Those are kinda like what I did. The only difference is I used angle iron to wrap the original mount then added plate steel between the bolt side and rocker. (Im building new floorpans. Lol)

to keep the boxs from getting smoked on mine, i built a large plate tied into my relocation brakets that ties into the trailer hitch mounts and to the rear of the body.

hard to see all the bolt from the pic, but you get the idea. the factory mounts were tweaked a tad, so i straighted it out, and built these.

Sorry not to thread jack but the rusty's are for the front spring mounts these are for the rear mounts. On mine when they installed the lift they broke the nut off so the bolt would just spin. So they cut the sides of the bucket out and then just hammered them back in place then used All-Thread........Dont flame me I didnt do it.......But i get to fix it. anyone have any pics of how they 'fixed' or redid their front spring mount on the rear axle?

yea I always wondered if this would be an issue with the design of the RC brackets...

I have the ones from H.D. Offroad engineering - they go the extra step of tying into the framerails where the hitch/tank skid bolts up, an extra 3 bolts on each side.
