Rear Bumper / Tire Carrier

Parking lot stops

The spacers used while welding give a slight curve like the OEM bumper

The small brackets and bolts are from a trailer spring mount kit

I used lots of scrap metal and the OEM bumper mounts

Rustolium Bedliner sprat paint.
Still looks good a year and a half later.

I drilled and tapped the bolt for greasing

Latched and pinned

Nice close fit.
I've backed into trees a couple times on the trail with no bending or rear door damage.
(outgoing joke...) the gas station blew up cause someone hit the unprotected pump!

well im thinking of putting a tire carrier on mine and im debating if i should have it leaned toward the passenger side or not even do it at all
It blocks the view of a car following at a normal distance, but I can see through the slots in the wheel for closer objects and there is plenty of view above and to the sides. I also use my side mirrors.

A 30" will fit in the stock spare location and 31"-33" will fit in the back on the floor with the seat up and door closed. I do not like the idea of a spare on the roof because of a raised center of gravity, getting it up and down, and clearance issues. Some people think it looks COOL up top? On the back it does block some view, but you have the whole interior clear and a lower center of gravity. I also have a bike rack on the roof, which I use for my canoe and mountain bikes, that I remove when I go wheeling.
