I clicked on this link because the thread was titled "Read This." I had a suspicion I was going to be let down.

And as usual, my instinct was correct.

Regardless of whether you were let down or not, that proves that this thread is serving its intended purpose, which is to educate the members of CF who may or may not read the stickies about the changes to the Fabrication section.

Can I have those 3 minutes of my life back? Please?

But on a for serious note, I get what your saying. But at the same token, the majority of users aren't building rigs like a few who are on this site. So they tweak their rigs here and there, and although they may not be building some 6.5" lifted monster, they deserve (IMO at least) as much of the limelight for the little things.

And I've noticed the majority are younger guys, whos' Jeep is not only their DD, but in alot of cases, their first vehicle. And while I'm gonna do a writeup soon on how to cut out the rockers and build sliders on the cheap, I think someone who builds a light tab for their DD deserves just as much attention.

Just my thoughts.

I don't disagree. Anyone who builds something deserves to be able to post a thread in the fabrication section, whether they make something as simple as a switch panel for fog lights or something as complicated as a custom 3 link, with a cross-member and belly pan.

However, the people who post threads in the fab section asking things such as "How do I build a tire carrier?" or "What welder should I buy?" Really should post their threads in the Cherokee Chat or Cherokee Tech section of the board where they belong instead of cluttering up the Fab Section.

You have every right to disagree with me having posted this thread, however so far I feel like its been very productive in helping to educate the members of Cherokee Forum about said changes as well as to start a healthy discussion about where certain threads should be posted. On the odd chance that this thread ends up turning into a squabbling match between members I will personally PM a Moderator and ask them to close the thread.

I don't think it'll turn into any kind of bickering match.

I think the basic jist of what your getting at all relates back to people need to learn how to use the search feature. And I think thats true for not only this, but every section.

I agree with this Zachsxj, people use fab section too much to ask question about how to do stuff through making a thread instead of just searching for one already started and asking through a post instead. drives me nuts. or where the thread starters first post is "so i'm thinkin about making _______ for my jeep any thoughts?" that a chat/tech thread.

Again I agree, it seems as though the most common section that has that problem is the Fab Section.

Alright. Here's the thing. Can you guys help the mods and admins by using the report button when you see something that doe's not belong here?
This is also my section where I can do whatever I want.
Move threads delete whatever.

We have so much of CF to cover we usually don't see EVERYTHING.

So just help us police the forum and it will make things easier. Because there's aways going to be that new guy that does not understand were or what topic to post.

And because this has been brought up I'm going to start keeping a closer eye on this section as well as Tech.

I will make sure to keep doing that, I've already been doing it quite a bit. 90% of the threads posted in the wrong section are posted by newer members who just don't know any better.

Forgive my ignorance dan but are you talking bout the post report button, or is there a button to report whole thread? If your talking bout the post report do we just report thread starters first post? Its what I've been doing.

Yea if the thread is in the wrong section then hit the button on the thread starter.
If there's a post in a thread thats off topic then just report that one post.

Nobody see's it except the Mods and Admins. And it will be handled.
