Default Question about 2x6 tube rockers

I'm in the process of doing this now, along with floor replacement.

I plan on sliding the 2x6 all the way to the back, but there are things, like the seat belt anchor etc, that protrude out from the wall, do you notch out the 2x6 for that in order for them to sit flush? Am I not looing at the right place to weld to?

My plan since my pinch seam was mostly gone was to weld to that wall from the other side with plug welds and along the bottom edge.

I'm staying at 3".
(edit for reading comprehension fail on my part ^)
What I'm doing is replacing rusty floors and rockers.
16 ga steel for floors
1/8" 2x6 for the rockers welded to the side part of the floor pan, but its not flat because of the anchors

Weld angle iron on first then slide 2x6 in. Use a 1" 1/8th strip between the 2x6 and the upper seam.

1/8th is kinda thin for sliders I would go 3/16th if you havent already started

Thanks heep92, already bought the 1/8" mostly because lighter, cheaper, easier to weld with a 110.

Its more cosmetic upgrade than rock rail. Just old logging roads here no boulders.

It may be because mine is a 2 DR? I'm not sure, but on the outside of the floor wall there is a retangle plate where the seatbelt anchors through from the inside.

All notched out and tucked up in, have another question.

The front sticks out about even with the fender flare, the rear is about 1/2"-3/4" tucked further in. Is this normal?

I did the same thing on my jeep and didn't notch it for the seat belt bolt. Mine are perfectly straight the whole way down.

I had to notch mine.

Why didn't you go all the way to the front? Looks like something is missing.

It is all the way to the front. Unless you're talking about cutting out the bottom of the fender as well. Mine goes right up against the fender. I thought about cutting the bottom of the fender off, but it seemed like it was more work than it was worth.

lol Yeah, that's what I meant. Chop the bottom of the fender off and slide it forward.
