It is simple, if you did not build something, it is NOT FAB. Just look at the first page, its pretty sad that all those threads had to be moved.

PLEASE KEEP THIS AT THE TOP BECAUSE PEOPLE APPARENTLY DONT READ STICKIES.

I did read the sticky, from what I can tell rock sliders falls under fab. I am building sliders from the ground up. I went to a steel supplier and bought 36 feet of different size steel and am cutting it all and welding as I go.. I am not trying to be stubborn or anything I just don't understand the new rule. The fab section isn't a write-up section now is it?

Your post is asking how to do something not here's what I'm doing. Doing is fab, asking how to do something is for the chat section. Build the sliders, tell us what you did and plenty of people will be happy to tell you what you did wrong and how they would do it.

Personal opinion below:
I think that anything fabrication related (both builds and questions) should be allowed in this section.

I would rather post fabrication questions in a place where other fabricators look and spend the majority of their "Cherokee Forum time". I (a somewhat fabricator) only look in this Fabrication section when visiting this site. Rarely do I ever check the Tech or Build section for fabrication related questions.... or at all for that matter.

I think the new rules, or the **** like enforcement of old rules is stupid too. If I have a FAB question why whould I ask it in the CHAT section? It stands to reason that there would be more people with the knowledge I seek that would see my post in the FAB section rather than the CHAT section. But hey, I'm not a mod and I'm not much of a power tripper either so what do I know...

Oh, and by the way, on the main farum page under Fabrication it says "All fabrication posts go here" I would say a FABRICATION question would qualify as a FABRICATION post.

If you want to be so picky why don't you change it to say "All fabrication write ups go here"

I think its great. I hate all the stupid post. Most people on this site look at other stuff on here. So, if you have a question post it in the tech section. And someone can answer it. Then go build it post back in the fad sections and we are all happy.
Thanks 89eliminator

the fab section is for people to go look up people who have made something that they want to and look at what they did. not to chit chat but get to a point so its easier for everyone. just saying

Hey, i just made this bumper. im going to post it in the fabrication section.
Hey, i wonder how i should make my bumper? i should go look at the past bumpers that have been built in the fabrication section.
Hey, i have a question about something specific. let me go make a post in the chat section or mod tech section (depending on what the question is)

Well I'm sorry for being so ignorant. I thought that was what the write-up section was for.. and sorry that asking a question about bolting and WELDING is so so stupid especially for the fabrication section.. I will keep further questions about FABRICATION in the cherokee tech and general chat discussions where they belong, obviously. Thanks to the guys that were very helpful for answering my original question.. to everyone else cheers and have a great day

I'm no fabrication pro but i believe that the bumper builds and other fab project questions and updates belong here. Definitely not rigging a floor mount cup holder to your console This section needs a little help but not quite to strict
