Cool perfect fit disconnects

all u need is a pair of hood pins, I did this with my jeep and it works great. now what to do is remove the crush sleve in side the rubber bushing, and put the pin in the hood bolt and insert into the bushing now put two nuts on the other end (just snug it up) take the pin out and remove now grind off the threads that will be inside the bushing (from the nut towards the hole) periodically check that it will fit inside of crush sleve easily. now unscrew the nuts and put bolt in and then pin snug up again and use jam nut make sure u can remove pin easily now just in case of vibrations i used teflon plumbers tape on the threads. hope this will make things a little easier for anybody

all the hood pins i have ever used were made of crappy soft metal. i dont think those are gonna last long for ya but the idea is good. have you flexed it at all with those on?....pretty sure most of the disco pins made in the aftermarket world are hardened chromoly.

I was going to say the same thing. Hood pins aren't designed for high shear loads. What you could do though is replace them with some grade 8 bolts and drill a hold for the pin.

Thats what I did and these things will probably hold up forever. Probably not a good idea to use a weak bolt. If it snaps while taking a corner, it might spring you outward and cause a rollover.

Could you use pins from a plow set up that are in an L shape and not have to bolt the other end? (if they were the right size)

Other then that, I have a can of pins from a Heavy duty chain (car wash pull chain) that I will try to use on mine. They have a flat head on one side and come in different lengths so hope one is perfect.
