Got home and bolted it into place. No good
So cut the tacks and brought out the grinder. Took off 5/8ths and it tucks in right where I wanted it.
Better now, I want to leave a little room just in case I do smash a prius then there is a little give before it hits the body. Then yanked it again so I can finish weld it tomorrow at work.
I did attempt to bend the return but had a small problem.
So since I ran out of time I will try again tomorrow with a larger radius die and preheating the pipe.

Wait, I need to see a picture LR2.
Ether way today I tried again to get the pipe bent and succeeded after tearing 2 more. We thought it might have been a bad spot in the material which failed. On lunch I rolled over the torch and heated another pipe. That one tore as well so the next time I spread the heat further which was the trick.
We are taking a 4day weekend for thanksgiving so I probably won't have crap done until next week. So I headed over to a buddies place and spotted something to pose on. Picture I think looks deceiving but the wall is about 2ft tall where the tire is at. It was nice not smashing the fender or bumper trying this.

Long weekend so nothing was done. Today I cut down the bent pipe and welded the caps on. Tomorrow I'll sleeve it and hope to get it burned in.
Ground down the other weld as well.
Pretty happy with the fit.

Oh ok I have seen your jeep then, it will be quite similar other then leas bends in the lower pipe and the top pipe will be taller and tuck a little closer to the grill I think.
Staying late at work again today to finish the lower pipe and maybe get it in place and welded. Might even get the top bent up as well.

Gotcha. Got a little more done today. I need to add the rest of the plate for the shackle mount for added strength. Then I am going to steal the wife's car one day, yank the bumper and take it to work and finish weld everything. Then if I can swing it I'll blast it then have it coated through my work. If the wife allows the budget for it.
