Started on my winch bumper today, this is as far as I got...hope to finish tomorrow! I wanted to retain the outer portion of the factory bumper as much as possible...so this is what I came up with. Actually worked out very well. All the lines "flow" nicely. The outer sections are mounted to part of the factory metal bumper (didn't really care about the strength of those since the main structure is the center piece) that is welded to the main section.

The center section looks sweet! Maybe I will understand why you want keep the end caps of the stock bumper when its finished.

My whole purpose for building this was to have a "factory" winch bumper. I like the side pieces and how they blend in with the fender flares, and no other winch bumper does this. So we'll see how it turns out...

Can we see more pics of it from the front? Although it's not the ideal bumper I would put on my rig, it looks nice and you did some very nice metal work there.

It's like a tube bumper.... They are nice, but not everybody wants them on their rig. Everybody has their own preferences and thoughts.

P.S. ProComp tires?

Here are a few more pics (I'll get some better ones tomorrow in the daylight) of it almost finished. It's in primer right now and still have to finish the valance piece underneath and add some D ring mounts.

It looks really good from the side, but from the front I think it looks like you bolted a beast bumper off of a 4 wheeler on there. I think your design would look really nice as a full size bumper, but if this is what you want, then by all means. The fab work really is nice though. Good job

Why not just build the rest of the bumper to match up the flares? It'd look a lot better IMO.

Thanks, but I didn't want it to look like "everyone else's"... Might add a tube hoop...maybe after the winch gets mounted...hmmm....

You can still make it unique. I've never seen another one like mine and it was just by changing some of the angles. And, once I put the TJ flares on, the bumper ends will match up to them. With the fab skills you've shown already, it wouldn't be hard. I love the center section, but the caps throw it off for me. But, in the end, it's what you like.
