I think the price is real resonable since I just got a quote of 75 a drive shaft. My rear might be ok... front wil need to have 7" added to it. Luckily I have a nice selection of old driveshafts to chose from.

I forgot to factor in what it is going to cost to have the block off plate welded to the crawl box. I will have a price on that today.. at least I hope too.

Well got some work done all ready today. Got the front case cut in half

The bad thing I found out is.. a 90 aw4 is 21 spline so now I need another 23 spline input gear. If not I am going to have to swap my SYE over to my t-case that is under my rig, and Use a TJ case. These are clocked flater and give the rig a "flat" Bottom.

On a happier note.. My buy of the week got delivered yesterday. It is an XJ d44 with crown vic brakes ruf stuff perches and a 3.92 and up carrier

To have the block off plate welded on is going to cost 50 bucks. So not too bad. Now just the waiting game.

yeah, i'm gonna get his d300 killer looking shifters.
i have a sye, but i didn't put it in yet, so i'll still need new drive shafts, but that's easy enough to lengthen a front xj shaft. i may even get one made up.

the best part is with duffy's kit, you don't need to flip the 300. he is the chit.

Yeah I I cant locate another 23 spline input... I wil just buy his shifters and run the d300 I have in my garage instead of a 231. The 300 I have is meant for my MJ truggy though.. it is going to have a 203/d300 doubler.

You shouldnt need a new front driveshaft. the 231/300 doubler is within 1/4 inch of the length of a stock 231. For the rear I would take a stock front shaft, a stock rear shaft get a measurement and head down to the machine shop and have one put together. Prices I am getting for that is 50 bucks

The ones around here want to sell me a whole case All I need is the input. I have a really good lead on one locally. So I might be golden. I also found out that are several different versions of 231 input gears.. so I hope the one I all ready ordered is right.

yeah man, that's what i meant. a front shaft lengthened for a rear.
i would build a square slip shaft, but i drive it 300 klicks to the trails.

i'm gonna do the 300/231 with those killer twin sticks. damn, now i can't wait.

We have a couple in the club I belong too. Now that I am doing it some other ppl local too me are interested as well.

Here is the kicker.. there is a guy on a local board selling a 21 spline 231 with a tera low kit in it. resonabley priced.. soooo Not sure if I am going to jump on it. That would give a real stupid double low of 10.8... or I might get it and just swap it into my DD MJ and be a cool kid

If you are rock crawling, 10+ is not a stupid ratio. It is what advance adapters recommends for auto tarnnies. 5 to 1 for standard trannies. I have the 10.38 Atlas and it works very well to reduce auto tranny temp.

I often think what some companies recommend is so they can sell stuff to ppl. I almost think the ratio spread would be too much. I know a bunch of ppl running d300 with 4 to 1's and auto, and they love it... I jus started wheeling a manual within the last 1.5 yrs.. and I love the control it gives me on the trail.
