The drain top piece is the only piece that i can remove if i want and attach any different top that i like.I also perfer it to face somewhat down so when the snow starts to fall i dont have to worry about it clogging up .

Do tell. I am looking to do something either build one like this, or buy one at a reasonable price. Thanks.

I'd say that's great... I have a pretty much stock '98 with 235/75/15s winter HT tires and get 17, with mixed highway and town driving... with the occasional "were does this dirt road go" trip...
Nice snorkel, I'll have to think about that on my next cherokee build... this one is a DD and needs to be running at all times.

I like this, Ive been collecting 3" od stainless pipe and bends to make my own but wasn't sure where to start. previous owner of my jeep ripped out the std air box and put in a pod filter and cold air intake on bonnetgreat for river crossings !! I guess I'll start by making an aluminium air box around the pod filter

I love this!!! Looks awesome!!! I actually just bought a snorkel, but the previous owner removed the stock airbox. Should I try to find one at a junkyard or just attach the snorkel hose directly to the throttle body? Any suggestions??

If you can get one at the junk yard you should i like using the factory airbox and having a filter in it.Just remember to plug all the holes on the box.

I guess that would be safer/better for the engine. I'll try to find one as soon as I get home. Thanks!

Hey stupid question probably but in one of your first few posts you said you sealed the air box shut? How would you be able to change filters or check snorkels keeping you dry? I want to do this mod but didn't know exactly what you mean there. Also you how did it look from drilling on the inside and side of fender? That space is hollow? tube just goes right thru there?

I think he means seal it around where the inlet tube connects to it.

I didn't mean seal the airbox so it doesn't open i meant seal all the small holes inside the box.And where the hose enters the box and the old air intake entry was.You have to drill threw the fender and also a little to where the fender mounts took about 20 mintues to make the hole with a hole saw made for metal. The space is pretty much hollow.
